About this file

This is a map attachment showing details of the K-Mountain Pipeline Reconstruction project in the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The document contains satellite imagery, topographical maps, and ground-level photos depicting the pipeline route and infrastructure locations.

The pipeline originates from headboxes within a wooden jackleg fence enclosure in the Kadletz Creek drainage at 6,473' elevation and runs approximately 7,443 total feet through three trough locations. The first trough is located 2,025 feet from the headbox at 6,200' elevation, where the pipeline emerges from Douglas fir timber into open sagebrush/grassland terrain. The second trough is 3,618 feet further at 6,140' elevation, and the final trough and pipeline termination point is 1,800 feet beyond that at 6,071' elevation. The maps also indicate proposed locations for daylight drains and air vacuum valves along the pipeline route. Photos show the existing wooden trough structures and site conditions at key locations including the headbox enclosure and trough installations.

K-Mountain Pipeline Reconstruction Revision 1 (Highlighted Red) Dated: December 31, 2024

The pipeline originates from headboxes within a wooden jackleg fence enclosure in the Kadletz Creek drainage at 6,473’ in elevation.

The pipeline climbs out of the shallow drainage to the bench, and then follows the bench downslope to the first trough location, which is located approximately 2025 feet from the headbox, at an elevation of 6200’. The pipeline generally follows an old two-track road through a Douglas fir timber stand. At the first trough location, the pipeline emerges into open sagebrush/grassland and remains in that vegetation type for the remainder of the pipeline. The second trough location is approximately 3618 feet further, at an elevation of 6,140’. The final trough location and termination of the pipeline is approximately 1800 feet further, at an elevation of 6,071’.
