RFI Questions and Answers:

1. Is there a due date for any RFIs to be submitted? RFIs must be received no later than 1300MST Thursday, January 13.

2. Is there a scheduled site visit? Or can we visit the site on our own? There is no scheduled site visit as there is 3-4 ft of snow and the road is closed, at Featherville, until May. If folks want a site visit, we could talk to the district to get them permission to snowmobile in, but it would be on their own.

3. Is this a heavy or lightly traveled road/bridge that will require a detour to be set-up? No detour will be required; however, the design of the bridge was chosen for a quick installation, see the requirement for the road to be closed for no more than 2 weeks (see mote under Technical Specifications)

4. Are there any photos of the existing bridge? See following pages for photos

5. Are 404 permits required for the Willow Creek Bridge project. Since all the work is above the high-water mark, there really is no need for a 404 permit.

6. During demolition, what is the minimum required measures for keeping debris out of the river. Debris should be kept out of the river as best as possible, tarps; possibly a boom across the river to catch floating debris; water filled jersey barriers to push the stream away from the abutment that is being removed, etc. As the existing bridge to be demolished is made of treated wood, it needs to be removed from forest lands as best as possible.

7. Can the project be completed later than the spring of 2022? The work window of the first two weeks of May was chosen so that the traffic impact would be minimal. Also, high flows typically occur during the last week of May and first 2 weeks of June. As there is no instream work, the amount of flow in the river should not be a concern. With lead times, the alternative work window is after the first of November of 2022.

8. Please provide a list of site visit attendees. There was no site visit.

9. Is the bridge difficult to get to with large equipment? Road Width? The road is 2 lane, 24 ft wide, for the first 5 miles from Featherville, and then approximately 18-20 wide. Other larger construction projects have hauled equipment on that road.
