About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal construction contract with the U.S. Forest Service for the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.

The contractor is required to furnish, haul, and stockpile 1,200 cubic yards of surface aggregate at the Mesa Falls Trailhead in the Ashton/Island Park Ranger District, located approximately 16 miles northeast of Ashton, Idaho (coordinates 44.196297, -111.321450). The work must be performed between September 8, 2026, and November 14, 2026. The contractor is responsible for purchasing and delivering the material, with all staging and storage areas subject to approval by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Prior to site entry, all equipment must be thoroughly cleaned and inspected by the Forest Service to prevent transportation of noxious weeds in compliance with federal and state regulations, requiring a minimum of seven business days' notice to the COR. The contractor must verify and protect all existing utilities and adjacent federal property. The SOW specifies that toilet facilities are not available at the site, and the contractor acknowledges responsibility for investigating site conditions and general local conditions affecting the work and cost. All site condition requirements are considered incidental to the contract with no direct payment provided for these items.
