3.0 Background
Construction History Tonasket Ranger Station, Building # 2007
1958 Ranger Station (RS) Original Design & Construction 1963 RS Addition – Office Addition West 1979 RS Addition – Office Expansion North, Joins RS building to warehouse with addition.
1995 RS HVAC – Modify and update HVAC systems. Removed three oil fired furnaces and seven window mount AC units. Installed four new condensing units, four new fan coil air handling units, new ducting, attic/ceiling exhaust fans, two economizer dampers, outside air supply vents, and upgraded electrical services. 1978 Electric Furnace with cooling coil remained.
2021 RS HVAC PM/Repairs – Performed Energy Savings Agreement (ESA) inspection on listed units. Tech made multiple suggestions for repairs on different systems, to include adding starting components to 4 of the current conventional heat pumps, and adding surge protection to all Mitsubishi mini split outdoors. Regular maintenance was completed, units needing repairs were to be submitted for approval.
The existing HVAC system was installed by “additions” from 1948 to 1978. Each new office addition was provided heating and cooling for that addition. The 1978 addition expanded the building into the warehouse north of the original office. The current Ranger Station is comprised of 4 buildings with different years of construction crossing decades.
The HVAC system was updated in 1995. The HVAC update “zoned” the HVAC equipment to service the same “additions” to the office that were heated by oil furnaces previously. Room air conditioners were removed and cooling was provided by updated system. The 1980 electric furnace and condenser remained in service. Since 1995 HVAC system equipment has been added, modified when necessary or replaced upon failure (30 years).
