About this file
This document is a Standard Form 30 Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract for a Camas Prairie Fence project issued by USDA-FS CSA Northwest 6 in Corvallis, Oregon. The amendment extends the quote submission deadline to 16 January 2026 at 1600 Pacific Standard Time and replaces the previous solicitation version with "Solicitation-Amendment2".
The amendment includes answers to four vendor questions covering site access, right-of-way clearing responsibilities, wood post removal and disposal, and fence bracing requirements. Specifically, the document confirms ATV/side-by-side access to the fence line, contractor responsibility for clearing a 4' right-of-way on both sides of the fence, and that removed materials should be salvaged or disposed of by the contractor. The Forest Service did not specify an exact number of braces needed but included standard specifications for brace spacing and placement to ensure a high-quality fence.

1. Is there any access for an atv or side by side to move materials to different locations along the work site?
Yes, there is ATV/side-by-side access to all parts of the fence via trails adjacent to the fence line.
2. Is the contractor responsible for clearing the right of way along the north side of the fence?
Yes, the contractor is responsible for clearing the right-of-way (4' on each side) along the entirety of the fence, including the north side.
3. Can the removed wood posts from the existing buck and pole fence be cut, stacked and burned on site?
While this is a potential option that could be discussed based on the time of year and willingness of our fire management staff to permit pile burning, quotes should assume that all removed material will be either salvaged or disposed of by the contractor. Treated wood posts, making up miscellaneous sections of the current wood fence, would not be permitted for pile-burning.
4. Is there an approximate number of braces needed for the barbed wire fence?
No approximate number is provided, but standard Forest Service specifications for spacing of braces and where to install corner braces along the barbed-wire fence is included in the solicitation for the contractor to implement as they see fit, in order to achieve a high-quality fence.
