About this file
This is a Water Well Report documenting the construction and decommissioning details of a water well located at Klahanie Campgrounds in the US Olympic National Forest, Forks, Washington (Clallam County). The well, identified as AGP318 under Notice of Intent W151628, is situated on National Forest Land at coordinates SE 1/4-14 NW 1/4 Sec. 6, Twp. 28N, R. 12W EWM.
The well construction involved drilling to a depth of 68 feet with a 6-inch diameter casing. The stratigraphic profile reveals a layered composition beginning with brown fine to medium sand with sharp boundaries at 0-12 feet, transitioning through gravelly zones and wet sand layers to approximately 63 feet, and terminating in brown, blue sticky clay at 70 feet. A surface seal was applied to 20 feet depth using bentonite material. The water table was recorded at 23 feet below the top of the well on June 3, 2002, with a land-surface elevation of 369 feet above mean sea level. The well was constructed by Arcadia Drilling Inc. (License No. 2053) under the direction of driller Gregory Phythian, with construction certification completed on June 4, 2002. The well construction complied with Washington state standards for water well construction.
