About this file
This document contains questions from potential contractors and responses from the government regarding solicitation number 1240BD24Q0001 for temporary housing units for wildland fire crews. The solicitation seeks delivery and setup of 10 electric trailer units measuring at least 30 feet in length but no more than 40 feet, with pads being at least 12 feet wide. Acceptable bed sizes are queen, full, or twin. While propane appliances would not meet the requirements, alternative trailer lengths up to the maximum allowed could be offered. The pads vary in size but are all at least 12x40 feet. No budget information or long-term service requirements beyond delivery and setup are specified. Award will be made based on total price per unit including shipping and option prices for laundry equipment.

CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS SOLICITATION 1240BD24Q0001 1112995_MTH_TempHousing Date: 20231311 v.3 Categories Contractor’s Questions Government Response
FLOOR PLAN -
BEDROOM
Would a queen and full size bed be taken into consideration, instead of two queen beds?
Either a Queen or a Full-sized bed would be acceptable; a twin would be as well. The mattress just needs to be better than a foam pad.
DESCRIPTION OF
REQUIREMENT -
POWER
Does it definitely have to be all electric, would propane be accepted?
All appliances need to be electric. We have permanent electric hook-ups for all units. We do NOT have access to propane.
Quote – Schedule of Items
You want a quote for 10 units and not 1 and preferably units with washer and dryer as an option? You also are wanting a lump sum for 10 even though you want each unit price correct?
The Schedule of Items should have a unit price and a total price column. The Unit Price should be inclusive of shipping per unit. The total price is calculated by taking the QTY * Unit Price = Total Price.
Option Item is the Laundry unit in each trailer. It may or may not be exercised. The Lump Sum was not asked for, as there is the potential to pick quantity from any number of quotes received.
DESCRIPTION OF
REQUIREMENT –
ALTERNATIVE
LENGTH NOTICE
Can the trailers be longer than 30 ft and what would be the maximum length acceptable or allowed?
The solicitation states if offering a different length to mark the material as “alternative”
DESCRIPTION OF
REQUIREMENT –
SALIENT
CHARACTERISTICS
Are you looking at a specific model for example? The Government has NOT decided on any specific model, that is why we are providing salient characteristics.
DESCRIPTION OF
REQUIREMENT –
SITE
INFORMATION
What are the dimensions of the existing RV pads? The pads are of varying sizes. All pads are at least 12 feet wide and 40 feet long.
FUNDING What’s the maximum funding for this project? The Government does NOT disclose any funding information.
DESCRIPTION OF
REQUIREMENT -
DELIVERY
Will this be a delivery and proper setup only contract or are there service requirements long term?
There are no extended service requirements, the Government will take turnkey units and manage them. This requirement is for delivery and set up only.
