About this file
This is Amendment 0001 to solicitation 12405B25Q0043, providing questions and answers regarding a water purification system installation at USDA ARS SEA facility in Stoneville, MS. The amendment clarifies key technical requirements, including water consumption rates (average 20 gallons per day, peak 300 gallons), water source details (irrigation water from reservoir with 600-800 TDS and high iron content), and installation specifications (system to be located outside growing system containers with power available).
The required water purification system includes a 12" HE water softener, 12" HE catalytic filter, reverse osmosis system, 20" x 4" sediment filter, 10" calcite filter, 1HP jet pump, 500-gallon holding tank with float, and 3 years maintenance. Installation must be completed during normal farm business hours between 12/23/2024 and 01/31/2025. The system will process water from two shallow well sources using 1/2" piping and must provide RO quality water for a pair of growth chambers. The contractor is responsible for providing all materials and any required enclosure for the outdoor installation.
