About this file

This document provides site access and logistics requirements for a federal construction project at a USDA facility. The preferred access route is through the Main Gate to Gate 152, where personal vehicles may be parked in the external lot and company vehicles may park near the job site. Large trucks unable to maneuver through this route may alternatively access through Gate 9 following a purple-marked route. The contractor must coordinate a proposed storage area location and is responsible for receiving all deliveries to the site, as the USDA will not accept deliveries made directly to USDA facilities. Smaller quantities of items may be stored near the cooling towers provided they do not block concrete roadways or impede campus operations.

The contractor must maintain vehicular traffic access to Building 125 at all times during construction, with up to three sides of the cooling tower available for contractor occupation simultaneously. At least one of two designated blue-marked routes must remain passable for USDA vehicle traffic, with the preference to minimize disruption throughout the project. Two construction trailers in the work area are scheduled for removal in October, and the contractor may need to coordinate construction timing to facilitate their removal. The document includes aerial maps and photographs identifying the cooling tower location, numbered buildings (125, 153, 154, 155, 156), access gates, and the proposed storage area.

Text version

Gate 152

Main Gate

Gate 9, alt route

The preferred path for access is through the Main Gate to Gate 152. Personal vehicles may be left in the parking lot outside that gate. Company vehicles may enter through that gate and may park near the job site. If large trucks need to enter that cannot maneuver, they may access through gate 9 and follow the alternative route depicted in purple.

Proposed storage area (see images later in document)

Vehicular traffic to 125 must be preserved at all points during construction. Up to three sides of the cooling tower may be occupied by the contractor at one time, as long as this traffic can pass through along one of the two available roads. Two examples of the routes USDA vehicles may take during construction are provided. The preference is to minimize the disruption to traffic throughout construction.

This section of road may be temporarily blocked to provide access. When blocked, access shall remain to the west, along the blue path, for vehicle traffic.

155156

This section of road may be blocked to provide access. Access shall remain along at least of the blue paths, for vehicle traffic.

There are two construction trailers in this area that are planned to be removed in October. The contractor on this project may need coordinate based on the timing of construction activities to facilitate their removal.

The below is a proposed storage area for the contractor. The contractor must be available and present to receive all deliveries to the site. The USDA will turn away any deliveries made to USDA facilities for this project. The contractor may store smaller quantities of items near the cooling towers as long as it does not block the concrete roadways or otherwise impede campus operations.
