About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation 1232SA26Q1226 related to HVAC unit replacement at a facility.
The project involves replacing an existing ground-mounted Trane HVAC unit (Model# YHC072A3RMA07F10…600, S/N 208100013L) positioned on a 55"x 93" concrete pad. The replacement unit must connect to the existing duct system through modifications and transitions only, with no replacement of the building's existing ductwork required. The existing exhaust fan should remain and be tied into the new unit's return air ductwork if functional, and the existing housekeeping pad should be reused if feasible. The contractor is responsible for removal and disposal of the existing HVAC unit and exhaust fan. Equipment movement will utilize forklift rather than crane or other lifting equipment. No concrete pad alterations or hold-down brackets are needed. Duct cleaning of reused ducts is recommended if possible, with TAB leak testing limited to new ductwork only and confirmation testing required for proper equipment functioning. The new unit will connect to a Micro-Grow greenhouse control system, which is outside the contract scope. Site access requires coordination with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) beyond standard government-issued photo ID. Work hours are flexible and can be adjusted to suit contractor needs. No temporary cooling, pre- and post-TAB, fused disconnect replacement, or existing DDC/BMS systems are involved.
