About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for federal contract solicitation 1232SA26Q0363 addressing boiler replacement requirements.
The solicitation involves replacing two existing boilers that currently provide hot water to heat tables inside greenhouses at a USDA facility. The existing boilers are rated at 264,000 BTU input / 216,000 BTU output, and replacement boilers must meet the needs of the current setup rather than a specified 400,000 BTU requirement. The hot water lines are steel pipes with clamps, and water connections will utilize the same points of connection as the current setup for water, gas, electricity, and flue. Only the boilers and connections require replacement; existing accessories, trim, pumps, pot feeder, and water treatment systems will remain in place. The boilers operate as standalone units in automatic mode controlled by temperature only, without integration into building management systems. No pre- or post-testing, vibration isolation, commissioning balancing, or as-built drawings are required; boilers only need to be operational upon installation. A floor sink is available nearby for temperature and pressure relief discharge and condensate. The USDA will add water treatment chemicals after installation is completed.

Question 3: Can a photo of the pump motor and pump casing be provided? If not please provide the GPM and feet of head.
Answer 3: Photos attached.
Question 4: Where is the intended POC for the water, gas, electricity, and flue?
Answer 4: Same place of current set up.
Question 5: How are the current boilers controlled? Local mechanical control, EMCS, BMS, etc.…?
Answer 5: Boilers are free stand alone in automatic mode and controlled by temperature only.
Question 6: Is any of the accessories, trim, or pumps to be included in the replacement?
Answer 6: Only boilers and connections need to be replaced.

Answer 10: Not required.
Question 11: Is there a floor sink nearby for the T&P and condensate?
Answer 11: Yes.
Question 12: Is there a minimum efficiency for the new boilers?
Answer 12: Yes, the existing boilers are rated at 264,000 input / 216,000 output.
Question 13: Can as built drawings be provided?
Answer 13: Not available.
