Responses to Request for Information A total of fifteen (15) RFIs were received on this project.
RFI #1: Approval Process for Plans: Could you please confirm the timeline for the approval of engineered stamped/sealed plans?
Government Response: Offerors shall provide plans for the proposed pole barn with their proposal. Since stamped/sealed plans have a cost associated with them, they shall be provided for review and approval after contract award.
RFI #2: Material Selection & Standards: Are there any specific material brands or certifications, in addition to those already outlined in the solicitation, that are preferred or required by the Government?
Government Response: No. Contractors shall ensure that all work meets ARS 242.1M “ARS Facilities Design Standards” in addition to all Local, State and Federal codes, and latest IBC codes per the Statement of Work. ARS 242.1M can be provided upon request.
RFI #3: Roofing and Siding Samples: The Statement of Work mentions the provision of samples for color selection. What is the expected timeline for this selection process?
Government Response: Once the sealed/stamped plans have been approved, samples shall be provided to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) designated on the award for color selection.
RFI #4: Concrete Requirements: Could you kindly provide more detailed specifications for the concrete flooring and foundation, including desired thickness or finishing requirements, if any?
Government Response: It is expected that the pole barn manufacture would provide the foundation requirements appropriate for the locale.
RFI #5: Coordination for Future Electrical Service: The Government will be providing electrical service to the structure at a later stage. How should the contractor coordinate the installation of the electrical sweep to ensure alignment with the Government's future plans?
Government Response: The location of the electrical sweep should be coordinated with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) onsite.
RFI #6: Photocell and Lighting Specifications: Are there any specific technical requirements or preferences for the photocell-equipped exterior wall packs and high bay lights, such as brightness levels or energy efficiency ratings?
Government Response: This should be accomplished based on the typical per code requirements.
RFI #7: Final Inspection Criteria: Could you please provide a more detailed criteria or checklist that the Government will utilize for the final inspection and acceptance of the project?
Government Response: The Government will base the final inspection on whether the contractor has installed the pole barn per the stamped/sealed plans.
RFI #8: SOW Section 1 item 1.1.2 states that the Government shall provide a level compacted site at the location for the pole barn to be erected. It is assumed that some level of site work will be required by the contractor to be performed prior to building the structure or pouring any concrete. Please clarify what level of preparation will be accomplished by the Government and what will be our responsibility.
Government Response: The Government will provide a roughly graded, level site area, any further site work will be the responsibility of the contractor.
RFI #9: It is assumed all Geotechnical testing to include compaction tests are the contractor’s responsibility. Please confirm.
Government Response: Yes, any required geotechnical and compaction testing shall be performed by the contractor.
RFI #10: RFP documents discuss “possible” location for the new pole barn. Please confirm that the Government will provide exact layout/benchmarks for the new pole barn prior to design.
Government Response: The Government has determined the location of the future pole barn.
See Attachment 5 Map Location of Pole Barn.
RFI #11: During the site visit, new concrete aprons leading into the structure were discussed. Please confirm this is desired and the distance from the building the aprons should extend.
Government Response: The concrete apron should extend 10 feet from the front (open side) of the structure.
RFI #12: Please confirm that the concrete slab shall not be insulated.
Government Response: Correct, the concrete slab shall not be insulated.
RFI #13: Please confirm that a perimeter turndown frost wall is not required to be integrated into the new slab.
Government Response: A perimeter turndown frost wall is required to be integrated into the new slab.
RFI #14: Please confirm that PE Design for the Electrical Option will not be required.
Government Response: PE Design for the electrical option is required.
RFI #15: During the site visit an existing underground water line present in the area was discussed. Please confirm that locating and marking the waterline and any other underground utilities will be the responsibility of the Government, and that relocation of existing will not be required.
Government Response: The Government will identify the water line and any other utilities. Any utilities identified that require relocating from the site area will be the responsibility of the Government.
