About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a water treatment services contract for cooling towers at the USDA Agricultural Research Service Field Research Implementation and Information Delivery Northeast Area. The contract involves providing chemical treatment for a total of nine cooling tower and chilled water systems located across seven cooling towers and two cold water chillers at the Beltsville Buildings and Systems site. The questions clarify that all water treatment equipment is owned by USDA, and the contractor is responsible for supplying all chemicals while USDA will repair or replace any nonfunctional equipment. The contractor will not be required to remove unused chemicals or provide glycol for drained glycol water systems. Positive Legionella tests may result in requests for cleaning, disinfection, and retesting proposals. Pricing and past spending amounts are not included.
