1. Please clarify if a single aggregate base gradation can be utilized for the entire project in an attempt to save on material and trucking costs.

Please see Amendment #2.

1. Sheet F-1 shows the 6” concrete slab being placed on top of 4” granular base. Please provide material requirements underneath the building slab as well as the concrete pad, concrete walkway, concrete fueling pad and transformer pad.

Grading D aggregate (same as specified in Amendment #2) shall be used underneath all concrete.

1. The entrance road profile shown on sheet C-2 includes a large amount of fill in order to achieve the desired finished elevations. Please clarify material requirements if additional fill is required in order to achieve the designed elevations.

Fill material calculations were done for the whole site. Material generated from grading the overall site, such as the grading loop can be used for the entrance road fill.

1. The construction notes on sheet C-5 reference sheet P1.01 for waterline and sewerline terminations within the building footprint. Please provide sheet P1.01.

Sheet P1.01 is the last page of the Foundation drawings (Attachment 3 – Base Foundation Drawings).

1. I see the insulation is with the building, will that be installed when they build the wall inside the building phase 2?

The insulation shall be installed in Option #1 - Building Erection, of the contract. For now, the insulation will be exposed inside the building.

1. I did not see any trim for the windows, do the windows have trim built in the unit?

Yes, the trim is with the window unit.

1. Will there be any fuel in the fuel tanks?

There may be residual fuel in the tanks, but the Forest Service will drain them as much as possible prior to relocation.

1. Are there any survey markers on the site?

There are three control points on site (labeled on Sheet C-1 of the drawings) that were used to establish the topographic survey. The Forest Service can locate these for the contractor prior to starting work.

1. Sidewalk in front of building shows length of building, but states 0.5’x5’x40’, but the building is 100’ long.

This length of sidewalk you’re talking about is accounted for in the dimension of the “concrete pad,” where the accessible parking space is located.

1. E-2 says see site plan C-1 for locations of light poles. C-1 does not show them. E-1 shows only one.

This is an incorrect reference. There is only one light pole to be installed in this contract, and it is shown on Page E-1.

1. Has anyone checked if all the hardware is in the metal building package.

We have not inspected to ensure if every piece of hardware is included in the metal building package, but will prior to the work starting.

1. Is there any underground work for the fuel tanks?

Yes, please see the callout note pointing to the pads on Page E-1 of the plans, which includes electrical trenching from the meter to the pads.

1. Will there be a lift at the Forest Service in Sparks to load the building?

No, the contractor will have to provide their own equipment.

1. F-1 states a third party inspector for reinforcement, welding, and anchor bolts. Will this be required?

Yes, this will be required. The contractor may opt to use the same inspector as the concrete tester, or the building erection inspector.

1. Will the tank pads be flat or will there be curbs on top of them?

They will be flat.

1. Will the Forest Service be supplying the soils report.

We did not provide this in the solicitation. If you’d like to get an idea of the soil and digging conditions, please visit the site and/or call Jordan Burge at 775-352-1243.

1. Will tying into the existing water line be hot tap or can we turn the water off at water holding tank?

The plans specify a hot tap.
