Clarification Questions:

Question 1 from RFI 002 was answered in Amendment #2: only Crushed Aggregate Base – Grading D will be used for this contract. Thank you catching the inconsistency.

1. The solicitation includes a total 170 days for the completion of all options of the project after the notice to proceed is issued. In years past the highway to the jobsite has been shut down for the winter. Please confirm that that if whether makes the project unaccusable a stop work notice will be issued and a notice to remobilize will be provided when access is regained.

I have never seen Highway 395 closed in this area for more than a day (from . But if weather makes construction infeasible, then we can do a winter shut down, which will pause the contract time until we can start back up in the Spring.

1. The solicitation states that the rolling steel doors are located in Bridgeport CA. Please clarify how these doors are stored as well as confirm they will be ready for shipment.

The overhead doors are being stored behind a locked gate in the town of Bridgeport. The doors are being stored outside on pallets, covered. The hardware is being stored inside, also on a pallet. They are and will be ready for pickup.

1. There is currently no reinforcement shown for the 30’ X 60’ concrete pad or the 5’ X 40’ concrete walkway. Please confirm that no reinforcement in the above-mentioned areas is not required.

Please use the same reinforcement shown on Detail B of Sheet F-2, 6” concrete slab with 6x6 W1.4xW1.4 WWM.

1. The thickened slab that is to be included in the base bid is shown called out to be extended to 3.5 feet deep. Are any of the other footings for the building slab to have a greater depth than what is shown on sheet F-2?

Yes, please plan on extending each of the footings to a 3.5’ depth, to match the low elevation of the thickened slab edge.

1. Please clarify that all of the metal building material are palatized and ready for shipment. Additionally, is there a forklift at the storage facility that will be able to load trucks or will that be the responsibility of the contractor?

All the smaller building pieces are palatized. The larger/longer metal pieces are stored on the ground with the kickers they were loaded with. The contractor will be responsible for equipment to load the building.

1. Please provide a soils report and PERC test for the proposed septic system. Please also confirm that permitting will not be required for the project.

We did not provide this in the solicitation. If you’d like to get an idea of the soil and digging conditions, please visit the site and/or call Jordan Burge at 775-352-1243. There is quite a bit of evidence of past digging in the immediate area, so you can get a good idea of the soils and rocks that will be encountered while digging.
