About this file
This is a Minimum Insurance Requirements document issued by Broward County's Construction Management Division for the Government Center West Restroom Renovation Project (Project No. 105374). The document outlines comprehensive insurance coverage mandates that contractors must maintain throughout the project execution. Broward County is designated as the certificate holder and must be named as an additional insured on all policies. The project requires contractors to obtain General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, with Broad Form coverage including contractual liability and products/completed operations hazard. Auto Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 combined bodily injury and property damage is required if driving will occur during project performance, though this requirement may be waived if no vehicle operation is necessary. Workers' Compensation coverage at statutory limits is mandatory, with Employers' Liability coverage set at $1,000,000 per accident. Excess Liability or Umbrella coverage may be utilized to supplement minimum requirements.
Additional coverage requirements include an Installation Floater with All Risk protection, with Broward County named as additional insured and loss payee, subject to a maximum deductible of $10,000 for which the contractor assumes full responsibility. The contractor's insurance shall provide primary coverage with no contribution required from the County. A waiver of subrogation in favor of Broward County applies to all policies. For Claims-Made policies, coverage must be maintained and evidence of insurance must be provided for a minimum of three years following project completion. All insurance requirements are conditions of contract performance, and the contractor bears responsibility for compliance with these specifications.
