About this file
This is a minimum insurance requirements document from the Broward County Housing and Urban Planning Division for the purchase and delivery of historic markers. The project involves the procurement of custom full-color digitally printed and specialty laminated 6mm Dibond signs with ground-mounted, angled aluminum powder-coated posts designed for outdoor installation at historic sites. These markers are intended for educational and historical information purposes and must be weatherproof and fade-resistant to maintain functionality for approximately 10 to 20 years. The vendor is responsible only for production and delivery, with no installation services required. No proof of insurance is required if delivery will be executed by common carrier.
The insurance requirements mandate that contractors maintain general liability coverage with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate, including premises-operations, explosion/collapse/underground, products/completed operations hazard, and contractual insurance provisions. Contractors must also carry auto liability coverage with $500,000 bodily injury and property damage limits if driving will occur during performance. Broward County must be named as an additional insured with primary coverage, and contractors must provide 30 days' written notice of policy cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment cancellation. For claims-made policies, evidence of insurance must be maintained for at least two years after contract completion. Workers' compensation insurance at statutory limits and employers' liability coverage with $100,000 per accident limits are required. The contractor's insurance shall be primary and not require contribution from the County.
