About this file

This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification outlining worker safety guidelines for weather-related conditions during project work. The document mandates that all project Safety Plans must include comprehensive provisions for protecting workers from heat-related and cold-related illnesses throughout project execution. When temperatures reach over 90 degrees (by temperature or heat index), the Prime Contractor is required to implement a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan with specific provisions for worker safety.

The requirement stipulates that during extended periods of adverse weather conditions, the Prime Contractor must provide necessary accommodations for workers. Key safety provisions include acclimatization, water access, rest periods, and shade protection. Vendors must acknowledge and agree to these heat protection safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining worker safety under challenging environmental conditions.
