About this file

This is an electrical schematic diagram illustrating a single-line power distribution system for a USDA trailer installation. The diagram depicts the integration of utility power, optional generator backup, and associated electrical components required for trailer operation.

The system includes a utility source (3-phase, 208V, 3-wire plus ground) connected through a 225A @ 208V, 3-phase utility enclosed circuit breaker with a 240V rated breaker. An optional customer-supplied generator source (208-120V, 3-phase, 4-wire plus ground) connects through a similar 225A @ 208V, 3-phase generator enclosed circuit breaker with 240V rating. Both sources feed into an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) that routes power to the main electrical panel and distribution infrastructure. The MCP panel (3' x 4' NSISD nipple) distributes power through #6 and #4 AWG conductors at 2°C to a Surge Protection Device and SPD Neutral Surge Protection Device. The grounding electrode (customer-supplied) must connect to equipment ground with no neutral-to-ground connection between neutral and ground. Generator communication and utility signaling occur through "BY OTHERS" and "BY GERMFREE" interface points. The schematic includes standard wire color coding (L1-BLK, L2-RED, L3-BLU, N-WHT, GRD-GRN) and notation for trailer chassis bonding. General notes specify single-entry parallel conductor feeds, 750 copper minimum wire gauge requirements, and the location of electrical service entrance at the trailer's rear, with all disconnects required within sight of the transfer equipment.
