About this file

This is a Work Write-Up for a Roof Replacement project issued by the City of Jackson Community Development Department in Michigan, specifically targeting a residential property located at 1117 Carl Breeding Way in Jackson, MI. The project involves a comprehensive roof replacement and gutter work, with an estimated 20 square feet of roof stripping and installation, and approximately 220 linear feet of gutter work. The specifications require removing existing shingles and felt, repairing roof framing, installing ice shield, new asphalt felt, architectural-style shingles, metal drip edges, and valley flashing, along with reflashing chimneys, plumbing vents, and installing proper attic ventilation.

The project is part of a competitive sealed bid process for repairs to program-qualified homeowners, with bidders required to have Sam.gov registration, proper licensing, and necessary permits. The scope includes replacing approximately 200 square feet of roof decking due to leaking, installing new 5-inch K-type aluminum gutters in standard colors, and ensuring proper water diversion from the foundation. The project will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder, with the work to be completed in accordance with Michigan Building Code and specified manufacturer installation guidelines. While specific pricing is not detailed in the document, the project appears to be funded through the City of Jackson's Community Development Department's home repair program.
