About this file
This document is a detailed technical specification section (Section 11060) for stage curtains for Taft High School, outlining comprehensive requirements for stage curtain materials, fabrication, and installation. The specification covers multiple stage curtain settings including front, intermediate, and rear settings, with specific requirements for valance, front curtains, borders, legs, and cyclorama curtains. The document specifies that curtains must be fabricated using inherently flame-retardant polyester velour fabric (IFR "Charisma" by K&M Fabrics), with precise technical specifications for fabric weight, texture, and construction. The specification also provides detailed instructions for curtain fabrication, including requirements for fullness, hems, pleating, and attachment methods.
The technical specification includes extensive technical details about track systems, including aluminum tracks for front curtains and cyclorama tracks, with specific manufacturer recommendations such as H&H Model tracks. Installation requirements mandate compliance with manufacturer instructions and governing regulations, with specific guidelines for mounting battens, tracks, and curtains. Quality assurance provisions require the fabricator/installer to have at least five years of successful experience in stage curtain installation, with flame resistance certification from NFPA 701 standards. The document provides comprehensive technical guidance for contractors, specifying materials, fabrication techniques, installation methods, and performance expectations for the stage curtain system at Taft High School.
