About this file
This is a Housekeeping Standards document for Navarro College in Texas, establishing the extent of service requirements for custodial services at the Corsicana location. The document outlines four primary service categories: student housing detail cleaning performed twice yearly during May-August and December-January turnover periods; common area maintenance including lounges, hallways, stairwells, and entryways; floor care services encompassing carpet deep cleaning, stain removal, and hard surface floor treatment; and supervisor/apartment unit cleaning with enhanced kitchen and appliance services. Additional as-needed services include room preparation for reassignments, cleaning of vacated rooms during the semester, touch-up and corrective cleaning following inspections, recleaning after early checkouts, and full refresh cleaning. Specific tasks are itemized within each category, including full bathroom sanitation, floor cleaning, surface dusting, appliance cleaning, window cleaning, and maintenance issue reporting. All units must be fully cleaned, inspected, and move-in ready by Housing-established deadlines.
The document specifies that cleaning services are performed exclusively during designated turnover periods—May through August as the primary turnover and December as the winter turnover, occurring semi-annually—with additional as-needed services generally scheduled within the first month following check-in due to room changes. No daily or weekly cleaning services are included unless otherwise approved by the college. The scope encompasses both interior and exterior work, including window cleaning, vent maintenance, light fixture cleaning, and wall spot-cleaning. The standards apply to student housing rooms and suites, common areas, floor maintenance throughout facilities, and supervisor or apartment unit spaces.
