About this file

This document is a General E-Signature Agreement from the County of Bergen, New Jersey, designed to establish electronic signature protocols for government business transactions. The agreement is based on the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act) and the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), which authorize state and local government agencies to use electronic forms, filing, and signatures for official business as of June 26, 2001.

The document requires vendors to provide an authorized individual's signature that will serve as an official electronic signature for submitting bids, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and other offers to participating local units. The electronic signature is valid for a term of one year from the date of signing, and the signatory must affirm they are authorized to conduct business on behalf of their vendor organization. The agreement ensures that electronic signatures have legal standing and can be used to create records with business, legal, and potential historical value.
