General Services Administration (GSA) Questions and Answers—Two RFQ#10PSPR-15-0020—CBP Kitchenette Renovation
1. Will dedicated circuits or extra electrical be required?
GSA Response: No new electrical circuits or outlets are required. Original receptacles will be replaced with new receptacles, labeled and new face places.
2. Do you want a Stove or Range Top? The cabinets should be reconfigured as needed?
GSA Response: The original scope called for a Stove Top. The Scope of work will be changed, after to reflect alterations during the site visit. The new requirement is a slide in full range (oven/stove). Yes, the cabinets should be reconfigured as needed
3. Do you prefer Corian vs Stainless Steel counter top?
GSA Response: The counter surface must be a hard one piece surface to include back splash. Both “corian and stainless steel are acceptable options.
4. Do you require a stacked microwave?
GSA Response: There will not be microwave shelves included. The cupboard design will remain per original design.
5. Are the existing disposals to be reused or replaced?
GSA Response: New Garbage Disposals shall be replaced like for like.
6. Is extra lighting required?
GSA Response: No lighting within scope
7. As we don’t have visibility of required repairs to any existing damage to the walls, will water damage be included in the SOW?
GSA Response: We will address water damage, if there is any, as an unforeseen after award.
8. Will all existing kitchen furnishings (dishes, coffee pots, silverware, etc.) be removed, stored, and replaced by GSA?
GSA Response: Customs and Border Protection will remove and dispose of all kitchen furnishing prior to scheduled start.
9. The cabinet layout will be redesigned to allow space for a full size refrigerator. Is supplying refrigerators to be included in the proposal?
GSA Response: Cabinet layout will be redesigned to allow a 36 inch full size refrigerator. Supplying refrigerator is not to be included in the proposal.
10. Are the existing unvented exhaust hoods to be replaced?
GSA Response: Yes, with ventless exhaust hoods.
CARGO AREA:
11. Is a microwave shelf with electrical outlet to be added?
GSA Response: There will not be microwave shelves included. The cupboard design will remain per original design.
12. Please confirm that a 10 ft by 14 ft area of VCT flooring will be removed and replaced with sheet vinyl.
GSA Response: Correct, that is what is required in the Cargo Kitchenette.
13. Please confirm that a ew rolled rubber base is to be supplied with pre-formed corners.
GSA Response: Correct, that is what is required in the Cargo Kitchenette.
14. Will the existing under counter light fixture be replaced?
GSA Response: Yes, it will be replaced.
15. Is any ceiling work to be included in the scope?
GSA Response: There will be no ceiling work included in the scope.
PASSENGER AREA
16. Is any flooring work is needed?
GSA Response: No flooring work is needed.
17. Is any ceiling work is required?
GSA Response: No ceiling work is needed.
18. Are all the walls to be painted?
GSA Response: All walls will be painted.
19. Please confirm the number of existing electrical circuits.
GSA Response: The exact number is not known, but there appears sufficient electrical circuits for the current requirement.
20. On form SF 1442 Continuation Sheet, page 1, Item 0002 and page 3, Item 0005; confirm that under CLIN Cost Details, "Equipment & Materials" should instead read "Labor".
GSA Response: The form has been updated with the removal of the reference to "Equipment & Materials" on CLINs 0002 and 0005.
21. Are any drawings available for bidding and as-built purposes?
GSA Response: There are no as-builts available.
22. Please confirm that stove tops and hoods are the only appliances to be furnished and installed; that refrigerators and microwaves are not to be included in the proposal, and that the appliances are to be stainless steel.
GSA Response: The only furnished appliances are – self venting hood in both locations – stove range (oven/stove) in both locations – both stainless steel.
23. Clarify that the existing kitchen layout and cabinet design are to remain unchanged.
GSA Response: Cabinet layout will be redesigned to allow a 36 inch full size refrigerator. Adjust accordingly. Contractor will provide submittals of the cabinetry design for government approval prior to manufacturing.
24. Are all existing kitchen furnishings (dishes, tables and chairs, coffee pots, refrigerators, etc.) be removed, stored, and replaced by GSA?
GSA Response: CBP will remove and dispose of all kitchens furnishing prior to scheduled start.
