About this file
This document is a comprehensive technical specification manual for the Citrus County Animal Shelter Facility project in Lecanto, Florida, prepared by MLM-Martin Architects Inc. The project involves constructing a new 25,500 to 33,400 square foot animal shelter facility located at 3150 West Woodland Ridge Drive, encompassing a one-story building with kennels, administrative offices, a veterinary clinic, and supporting spaces. The facility will include metal framing, gypsum board assemblies, various wall and floor finishes, modular kennels and cages, electrical and mechanical systems, and associated site improvements such as utilities, drainage, grading, paving, sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation, and fencing.
The project will be procured through a competitive bid process (ITB 25-164) with pending permits from Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) and Citrus County (Site and Building permit applications). The technical specifications detail precise requirements for materials, installation methods, performance standards, and quality control across multiple building systems and components. Potential bidders must carefully review the extensive documentation, which includes detailed drawings, material specifications, installation guidelines, and compliance requirements with Florida Building Code, ADA standards, and other relevant regulations. The project appears to be funded through local government sources, with a focus on creating a modern, functional animal shelter facility that meets contemporary operational and animal welfare standards.
