SCOPE OF WORK
City of Nashua, New Hampshire
SCOPE OF WORK
I. GENERAL
The City of Nashua, Division of Public Works, is soliciting bids from qualified contractors with acoustic ceiling installation experience to install drop ceilings and associated fixtures in five areas of the Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 2 Sawmill Rd, Nashua, NH on the property of the Treatment Facility. Installation must be in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
II. BACKGROUND
The City of Nashua, NH owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility located at 2 Sawmill Road in Nashua, NH. This facility is permitted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and is regulated by a NPDES permit.
The NWTF is a secondary wastewater facility with an average daily flow of 12.0 million gallons per day and a sanitary design capacity of 16.0 million gallons per day. Onsite there is also an anaerobic digester, an energy recovery facility, and a wet weather flow treatment facility. Throughout the Facility there is a variety of process equipment and associated plumbing. The plumbing allows appropriate functionality throughout.
III. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and installation necessary to install drop ceilings in five areas, totaling approximately 734 square feet, within the main building of the Nashua Wastewater Treatment Facility. Work includes installation in two stairwells, requiring adherence to all applicable safety standards and safe work practices.
The existing ceiling system consists of metal tile with insulation backing, installed during a major facility upgrade in the 1980s. All existing ceiling materials shall be removed and properly disposed of by the Contractor. No on-site dumpsters shall be used for disposal of construction debris. Any existing LED tube lighting within the work areas shall also be removed and disposed of by the Contractor.
The existing perimeter (outside) track may be reused as part of the new ceiling grid system, provided it is determined by the Contractor to be in acceptable condition. If deemed unsuitable for reuse, it shall be demolished and disposed of along with other construction debris.
The Contractor shall install a new 15/16-inch white ceiling grid system to match existing ceilings throughout the facility. If the existing perimeter track is reused, it shall be cleaned and freshly painted to match the new grid. Install new 2-foot by 2-foot Armstrong ceiling tiles, consistent with those used throughout the facility, with moisture- and mildew-resistant properties. Install new 2-foot by 2-foot LED light fixtures in accordance with applicable codes. All existing emergency lights, exit signs, smoke detectors/alarms, and other fixtures shall be reinstalled.
Two of the installation areas are located above stairwells and may require staging for safe access. If staging is required, its provision, installation, and safe use shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
The total ceiling area is approximately 734 square feet, as indicated in the below drawings. The Contractor is responsible for verifying all field dimensions.
The facility will remain operational throughout the duration of the work. The Contractor shall coordinate closely with the designated facility representative and provide detailed scheduling information to minimize disruption. The two stairwells serve as access points to the fourth floor and shall be completed sequentially, with only one stairwell taken out of service at a time.
