About this file

This request for information (RFI) concerns the United States Marine Corps' (USMC) need for enterprise commercial satellite services (MECS2) to achieve global coverage across multiple orbits and frequency bands. The USMC requires transponded bandwidth and end-to-end managed services leveraging available satellite transmission options, as well as cellular services and access methods, to obtain bandwidth capacity and purchase or lease multiple service models and managed services solutions. This must include program management support, bandwidth management tools, and access to satellite monitoring tools via secure and non-secure networks.

The RFI provides a draft performance work statement, sample task orders, a contract line item number structure, and contract data requirements list for industry review and feedback. Interested vendors are asked to comment on these documents, identify any non-commercial or cost-increasing requirements, and recommend contract types and structures to support the USMC's needs. Responses are due by March 20th, 2024 and should not exceed ten pages. Upon completing market research, the agency intends to release a formal solicitation for this requirement. The incumbent is Inmarsat Government, Inc. under contract CS30002.
