Statement of Work U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) Tucson Sector

Wilcox/Douglas Hwy 191 Checkpoint Hinged Signage Relocation and New Installations

1. BACKGROUND:

U.S. CBP has a requirement to upgrade Tactical Checkpoint hinged signs and install new hinged signs to be in-line with the current Arizona Department of Transportation (AzDOT) requirements. AzDOT required that USBP Tucson Sector provide a 'Traffic and Site Control Plan' for this checkpoint. AzDOT approved the plan to operate the Checkpoint at Arizona Highway 191, requiring the manufacturing and installation of several signs to ensure the travelling public is aware of the status of speed limits leading up to the checkpoint.

SCP

2. SCOPE:

Tucson Sector requires services to create and install new hinged signs and ensure all signage is in alignment with the AzDOT permit in hand.

The contractor will utilize the approved AzDOT Traffic Control Plan and/or Site Control Plan for the checkpoint to install traffic and safety signs. The signs will be a mixture of rigid and folding signs at various intervals and locations spanning the permitted area of the checkpoint. Some signage already on site may be relocated and reused, some materials may be salvaged and reused for signs on site or new signs that the service provider will provide.

The contractor will design and produce all signs to AzDOT specifications and requirements for traffic safety along with some signs being made to be folded and opened with the checkpoint is operational and folded closed when the checkpoint is non-operational.

The contractor will ensure that the folding signs have a readily and accessible opening and closing method that can be utilized by agents in the event of a status change of the checkpoint (e.g. open & closed).
