About this file

This is a Claim of Business Confidentiality document submitted in relation to Snow College's Request for Proposals for food services at the Richfield campus in Utah. The document pertains to a competitive procurement process seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive food service operations, including lunch service and catering for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other campus patrons. The vendor selected through this RFP process will be responsible for designing and implementing a food service program that enhances student quality of life and contributes to the overall educational experience at the Richfield campus, with services characterized by fresh, healthy, nutritious foods presented at economical pricing.

The Claim of Business Confidentiality document indicates that the submitting vendor has asserted proprietary protection over certain information included in their proposal response. This claim typically protects sensitive business data such as pricing structures, operational methodologies, vendor-specific processes, or other competitive information from public disclosure. The assertion of business confidentiality is a standard mechanism in procurement processes that allows vendors to safeguard sensitive commercial information while still participating in competitive bidding, subject to applicable state public records laws and exemptions that may apply to the confidential materials identified in the claim.

Business Request for GRAMA Business Confidentiality Claim

Note: Utah Code § 63G-2-305(1) states that trade secrets can be protected if the person submitting the trade secret provides the governmental entity with a confidentiality claim. Likewise, Utah Code § 63G-2-305(2) states that commercial financial information can be protected if disclosure could reasonably be expected to result in unfair competitive injury to the person submitting the information, and that person has provided a confidentiality claim. Confidentiality claims are described in Utah Code § 63G-2-309. A claim must include a concise statement of reasons supporting the claim and must be submitted with the information requested to be protected. A claimant MUST submit a redacted and non-redacted version of their proposal. The entire proposal may NOT be redacted. The Division of Purchasing will not redact a proposal on behalf of a claimant if they fail to upload a redacted copy of their proposal.
