About this file

The document is a Claim of Business Confidentiality filing related to the Alpine School District's Notice of Intent to Award a contract in Utah. The Alpine School District's Purchasing Department is seeking to award a contract for an architecture firm to repeat the use of a school design without engaging in a standard procurement process. The district is pursuing this approach under specific provisions of the Utah Procurement Code that allow for contract award without standard competitive bidding when certain conditions are met.

The justification for this non-standard procurement process appears to be based on one or more of the following criteria: (1) there is only one source for the procurement item, (2) transitional costs are a significant consideration, or (3) the contract award circumstances make standard procurement impractical and not in the best interest of the procurement unit. The document indicates that the specific justification details are contained in additional files that would require further review to fully understand the precise rationale for bypassing standard competitive procurement methods.
