Summary of Bid Documents for 2026 Grit Removal from Bioreactor 2 and Bioreactor 5

These are bid documents issued by the South Valley Water Reclamation Facility (SVWRF) in West Jordan, Utah, for the removal of municipal wastewater grit from two bioreactors and disposal at an approved landfill. The project includes grit removal from Bioreactor 2 and Bioreactor 5, with all removed material to be hauled to a landfill designated by the Owner. The work is scheduled to begin October 5, 2026, and must be completed by December 4, 2026, with hauling and final disposal permitted within 14 days after the completion date. A mandatory pre-bid job walk will be held on September 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the project site, with attendance required for all prospective bidders. Sealed bids must be received by 2:00 PM on September 14, 2026. The Owner estimates approximately 1,000,000 pounds of partially dried grit will require removal based on landfill tipping scale weights, though the bidder will be responsible for all labor, equipment, supervision, and project management costs while the Owner will cover landfill tipping fees.

Bids shall be submitted on a lump sum basis with separate schedules for each bioreactor, including line items for contract administration with bonds and insurance, mobilization, removal and disposal of grit, cleanup, and demobilization. A bid security of five percent of the total bid price in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond is required. The awarded contractor must execute a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, and provide comprehensive general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation insurance as specified. Liquidated damages are assessed at $250 per day for failure to meet the December 4, 2026 completion deadline. The contractor is responsible for all damage to existing bioreactor aeration systems caused by their work and must restore the site to pre-work conditions. Payment will be made within 30 days of invoice submission for 100 percent of lump sum amounts upon work completion, and the contractor must provide all hygiene facilities for employees including restrooms, washing water, trash disposal, and drinking water.
