About this file
This is a Bid Bond Form template utilized by Marion County Board of County Commissioners in Florida for the Golden Holiday Wastewater Treatment Plant and Water Treatment Plant Decommissioning and Lift Station and Force Main Installation project (Bid Number 26B-083). The project encompasses the complete abandonment and demolition of the existing Golden Holiday Wastewater Treatment Facility and two Water Treatment Plants, along with construction of a new lift station and installation of a new 3-inch force main and a section of 2-inch water main. The bid bond form serves as a financial guarantee that the bidding contractor will enter into a contract with the County upon bid acceptance and provide the required performance and payment bonds as specified in the bidding or contract documents. The form requires contractors to submit either a bid bond or a cashier's check, with the latter being held in custody by Procurement Services until contract execution with the recommended firm. Bid bonds or cashier's checks from the top three ranked firms will be returned upon request; firms may arrange courier pickup or request standard USPS delivery, with the County disclaiming liability for mail loss or misdirection.
The bid bond establishes a financial penalty equal to the difference between the submitted bid amount and any larger amount for which the County may contract with another party if the principal contractor fails to enter into the contract or provide required bonds. The form requires detailed identification of the Principal (contractor), Surety (bonding company), and the County as Obligee, with specified dollar amounts and project details to be completed prior to submission. Witness signatures are required from both the Principal and Surety, and the bond must be signed and sealed on the date of submission. No specific budget amount, set-asides for disadvantaged enterprises, or incumbent contractor information is detailed in this bond form document.
