About this file
This is a specification document for a federal repair project at March Air Reserve Base in California involving multiple building improvements and door hardware installation.
The project encompasses standing-seam metal roof panels (Section 07 41 13.16), steel doors and frames (Section 08 11 13), and door hardware (Section 08 71 00). For roofing, the specification requires vertical-rib, snap-joint standing-seam metal roof panels with aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel sheet (ASTM A 792, Class AZ50), 22-gauge nominal thickness, two-coat fluoropolymer finish in acrylic coated galvalum, with continuous rib clips featuring vinyl weatherseal inserts. Panel coverage is 16.5 inches with 1.5-inch height. The roof system must achieve air infiltration of no more than 0.06 cfm/sq. ft., no water penetration at 15 lbf/sq. ft. static pressure, UL 90 wind-uplift rating, and accommodate thermal movement ranges of 120°F ambient and 180°F material surface temperatures. Special warranties include 20 years and 6 months for substrate, 40 years for panel finishes, and 20 years for watertightness, all from date of Substantial Completion.
The steel doors and frames must comply with SDI/DOOR A250.8 Level 4 specifications for maximum duty doors with core insulation (polyurethane foam with R-factor 10.0 or mineral board per ASTM C612). All doors are 1-3/4 inches thick with factory-primed rust-inhibitive coating or hot-dip zinc-coated finishes meeting ASTM A924/A924M Class A40. Door hardware includes Schlage Everest 29 Primus high-security cylinders (Level 9), Ives hinges, LCN surface closers (4040XP model), Von Duprin exit devices, and Zero thresholds and seals. The keying system specifies construction keys with permanent core installation by owner, including 10 construction keys and 2 control keys. Hardware warranties range from one year for hinges to thirty years for closers. The door schedule identifies seven hardware groups applied to doors throughout the Billets, Bathhouse, and Kitchen areas (doors 50-1 through 59-2, 91-1 through 91-5, and 96-1 through 96-3), with specifications for hinges, locks, closers, seals, thresholds, and miscellaneous accessories.

C. Coordination: Coordinate hardware with other work. Furnish hardware items of proper design for use on doors and frames of the thickness, profile, swing, security and similar requirements indicated, as necessary for proper installation and function, regardless of omissions or conflicts in the information on the Contract Documents. Furnish related trades with the following information:
1. Location of embedded and attached items to concrete.
2. Location of wall-mounted hardware, including wall stops.
3. Location of finish floor materials and floor-mounted hardware.
