This is Addendum 02 for the Central Lake Public Schools Elementary School Secure Vestibule and HS/MS Remodel project, issued by the school district in Central Lake, Michigan on February 4, 2026. The project encompasses renovation and remodeling work at both the elementary and middle/high school facilities, with Bid Package No. 1 focusing on MS/HS and Elementary renovations. The scope of work is divided into eleven prime contract work categories: Masonry (04-01), Structural Steel (05-01), General Trades (06-01), Roofing and Siding (07-01), Glass and Glazing (08-01), Walls and Ceilings (09-01), Flooring (09-02), Painting (09-03), Plumbing and Mechanical (23-01), Electrical (26-01), and Earthwork/Site Work (31-01). The bid due date remained unchanged at Monday, February 9, 2026 at 3:30 p.m., with bids to be submitted to Dr. Ryan Cunningham, Superintendent, at the MS/HS main office and opened publicly immediately thereafter in the MS/HS library. Post-bid interviews were scheduled for February 10-12, 2026 across multiple time slots for each work category. Addendum 02 includes 71 pages of documents providing clarifications to bid categories and specifications, updated project manual sections, requests for information responses, and French Associates drawing and specification addendums addressing fire alarm system modifications, wheelchair lift configurations, glazing specifications, and structural details.
The addendum addresses key modifications including the removal of fire alarm devices from bid documents due to system compatibility issues, specification of GL-5f 120-minute fire-rated glazing for applicable applications, and updates to wheelchair lift specifications with the Savaria V 1504 VPL 90-degree configuration as the basis of design. Each work category includes a contingency allowance ranging from $2,500 to $15,000, with contingency funds to be used for actual costs only without overhead and profit markup, and unused portions credited back through deductive change orders. The document provides detailed scope clarifications for all trades regarding demolition, coordination requirements, testing and commissioning, temporary protection, and final cleaning responsibilities. Requests for information addressed topics including existing ceiling insulation, aluminum storefront specifications, flooring demolition responsibilities, ground-penetrating radar locations, dumpster coordination, door access controls, and gym floor demo scheduling in relation to roof work. Moore Trosper Construction Company served as the general contractor managing the overall project coordination and scheduling.
