About this file
This document is an attachment to a state and local contract opportunity issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Geological Survey. The contract requires the services of a contractor with demonstrated knowledge and experience to perform 2D seismic-reflection data acquisition and analysis services along a 20-mile transect within the Gettysburg Basin in Adams County, south-central Pennsylvania. The transect starts in the Precambrian metarhyolite units, crosses the Mesozoic border fault, enters the Gettysburg Basin, and ends in the Cambrian Kinzers Formation.
The contract opportunity does not provide details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements and sources, or other salient commercial information. The document focuses on the technical specifications and location of the required seismic-reflection services.

TRANSECT LINE 1410-P-4
The transect of interest, covering a distance of 20 line miles, is situated along US 30 (west of Gettysburg, PA) and SR 116 (east of Gettysburg, PA) in Adams County, extending from Marsh Creek in Franklin Township (west end, Longitude (X) and Latitude (Y) coordinates X = -77.374, Y = 39.896), east to South Branch Conewago Creek in Union Township (east end, coordinates X = -77.055, Y = 39.799). The transect crosses through Cumberland, Straban, and Mount Pleasant townships, including Gettysburg and Bonneauville boroughs.
The transect starts (west end) in the Precambrian metarhyolite units, crosses the Mesozoic border fault, then enters the Gettysburg basin, and crosses border fault to the east, ending in the Cambrian Kinzers Formation on the east end of the transect (Figure 1).
