About this file
This Statement of Work outlines guy tensioning requirements for U.S. Forest Service communication towers at three sites in Mississippi - Airey South Repeater, Erambert Orchard Repeater, and Wausau Repeater. The work includes tensioning guy wires to initial tension specifications per TIA-222 Rev. H standards, performing corrosion abatement on guy wire anchors, installing safety wires and grounding systems at anchor points, clearing vegetation around anchors, installing ice bridges between towers and shelters, and conducting tower mapping.
The project requires completion within 30 days of start, with the contractor submitting a preliminary schedule 10 days after award and final schedule two weeks before work begins. Key technical requirements include maintaining grounding resistance of 10-25 ohms, using #2/0 AWG copper conductors, installing air terminals 6 feet above antennas, and following OSHA, ANSI-TIA 222 Rev. H, and NFPA 780 standards. The work supports both the U.S. Forest Service and Federal Aviation Administration missions, with oversight from project managers at both agencies. Deliverables include a remediation plan, test data for tensioning, photographic documentation of below-grade work, and final documentation packages within 30 days of completion.

The initiative will focus on addressing systemic maintenance and critical infrastructure issues afflicting the USFS tower inventory and their ability to support mission critical activities. The contracting entity will serve independently to provide technical, and logistics services to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the efforts detailed within this scope of work.
2. Scope of Work The scope of work will encompass the implementation of all remediation measures outlined in the site-specific requirements for each site listed below. Selected contractor(s) shall provide all necessary tools, equipment, material, and technical expertise to complete this effort:
