About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the Coburn Gore Land Port of Entry (LPOE) Art in Architecture (AIA) Project, Notice ID 0332CG-AIA, dated October 7, 2026.

This is a brand-new federal art commission for a new port of entry facility in Coburn Gore, Maine, issued as a Small Business Set-Aside. The project seeks artwork in any materials or mediums (sculpture, murals, illustrations, framed pieces, etc.) with a budget range of $275,000–$400,000 under a fixed-price contract. GSA anticipates selecting a single artist through evaluation of existing portfolio and past work; concept development occurs only after contract award. The selected artist will determine artwork location (indoor or outdoor) in consultation with GSA and its contractors. No preliminary site plans, architectural renderings, dimensions, or installation area specifications are currently available; such details will be provided to the selected artist following contract award. The project timeline typically spans 3 to 5 years from contract award to installation, aligned with federal building construction and budgeting phases. Submission materials should be emailed to nationalartistregistry@gsa.gov with "0332CG-AIA" in the subject line. Authorized agents may submit on behalf of artists, and all parties must maintain active SAM.gov registrations with valid UEI numbers. No thematic content constraints exist beyond Executive Order 13934 guidance, and Canada-related imagery is permissible given the shared border crossing location.

3 I am wondering about the visuals of my sculpture on file with the GSA? I looked on the GSA web site but i am not included in that list, so I don't know how else to see if my slides are still on file other than to ask you. I am very interested in being considered for the project in Maine. or do I have to reapply for this specific project?

The GSA National Artist Registry is not available to the public as it contains PII. Please send an email to:

nationalartistregistry@gsa.gov if you wish to confirm which sculptures you previously submitted to the Registry.
