Addendum to YTPM 13-0015 Specifications

The following addendum shall be used in conjunction with DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS, 100%

CORRECTED FINAL DESIGN SUBMITTAL - REPAIR ROOF, MEPCOM FACILITY, BUILDING 5411.

The following addendum to the project specifications are made a part of this contract and supersede any conflicting provisions of the specifications.

DIVISION 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Section 01 50 00, Para 1.2 Submittals

Contractor is required to submit the proposed temporary trailer facility for Government approval.

SD-03 Product Data – Temporary Trailer Facilities for the Government; G.

Temporary Trailer Facilities for the Government

Overview - The Government requires temporary trailer facilities to relocate a critical testing function, which is currently located in Bldg 5411, for the duration of the construction project. This space needs to accommodate 20 testers and a proctor. The facility does not need restroom accommodations.

Provide temporary trailer facilities for Government use for the duration of construction. Facility should be completely set up 7 days prior to commencement of the roof construction. Upon completion of all work, provide the Government a minimum of 7 days to vacate the temporary trailers.

This temporary facility is to be located at the location shown in Attachment 1: Electrical Underground & Site Lighting.

The Contractor is responsible for a complete and usable facility, including any set up, anchoring and utility hook ups for temporary network and electric service to existing utilities. All electrical work shall conform to the National Electric Code. Chicopee Electric Light owns the overhead distribution system, and their standards will need to be met for the service to the trailer. The Contractor is responsible for coordinating that service. Actual power is paid for by the Government through the base master meter.

The facility is to be a factory-assembled trailer with a minimum of 450 square feet.

The facility will be insulated and air conditioned (heating and cooling) with thermostat. Provide an exhaust fan for each side.

Provide interior overhead lighting.

Provide and install temporary tables and chairs to serve as computer workstations.

Provide power outlets to support 20 computer workstations and to supply power to the network equipment.

The exterior will be a weatherproof, aluminum-skin panel wall and roof surface. Provide minimum six foot eight inch high by two foot eight inch wide doors with locking hardware. Provide exterior landings, stairs, railings, guardrails, and accessible ramp per ADA requirements.

The interior finishes will be painted gypsum board or vinyl covered gypsum board, ceilings to be acoustical tile or suitable alternative and floors to be vinyl composition tile with resilient base. Wall finishes to be a light neutral color. Flooring and base to be a medium neutral color. Ceilings to be white.

Temporary Network Service for Trailer Facilities for the Government

The Contractor is responsible for a complete and usable facility, including any set up, anchoring and utility hook ups for temporary network service.

Please notify Dennis Snook 413-557-2565 a week in advance for manhole access.

[Contractor should reference Attachments 1 and 2 for the existing utility locations, Electrical and Communications Rooms locations and associated riser diagrams. Reference Attachment 3 for the temporary network connection diagram.]

Furnish and install a fiber patch panel in the Communications Closet in Bldg. 5411 and connect it to the existing MEPCOM fiber switch with appropriate patch cords.

Furnish and install a temporary OM3 multimode fiber cable with fusion spliced LC/LC connectors on both ends from the patch panel through the existing duct bank and manhole system to Manhole C07 where it will transition into a temporary conduit that runs into the temporary trailer. This temporary conduit will be core drilled into the side of the existing manhole and sealed for water tightness.

This OM3 fiber will then be terminated at a contractor furnished and installed patch panel inside the trailer. The contractor will then connect that patch panel to a MEPCOM supplied Network Switch.

That network switch will then be connected to another contractor furnished and installed patch panel which will feed the 20 required LAN drops at the 20 testing stations.

The patch panels and MEPCOM supplied network switch inside the trailer will be secured in a contractor furnished and installed lockable cabinet. An alternative set up would be to locate the network equipment in a standard network rack inside a separate room inside the trailer. This room would need to be keyed independently from the other doors.

The temporary OM3 Fiber will be tagged “Temp MEPS” at both ends and inside manhole C07.

Upon completion of the project all temporary fiber will be removed all the way back to the Network Switch inside the Communications Room in Bldg. 5411. Penetration to manhole C07 shall be plugged or patched.

Lockable cabinet (or standard network rack) and all patch panels to be turned over to the government at the completion of the project.
