About this file
This specifications document outlines weather radar equipment and service requirements for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development (TDTD) at sixteen welcome centers located throughout Tennessee. The vendor shall provide, install, and maintain color monitors (21" to 32" LED flat-screen, 1080P HD) with internet access and central processing unit software at all locations. The system must display scrolling content including TDOT travel weather, U.S. conditions and temperatures, Southeastern U.S. radar, severe weather outlook, and tourism promotions at specified intervals. The vendor is responsible for all equipment repairs, replacements, software upgrades, labor, and travel expenses at no additional cost to the state, with a required response time of 24 hours for all service calls. Welcome center locations span sixteen counties across Tennessee, including sites on I-81, I-26, I-40, I-75, I-24, I-65, and I-155. The contract includes provisions for emergency scrolling messages on all systems and allows for custom engineering and programming services to adapt to new technologies.
The vendor shall provide toll-free technical support during normal business hours (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Central Standard Time, excluding legal holidays). Billing shall be conducted monthly with all locations listed on a single invoice with separate line items corresponding to contract line items, directed to Pete Rosenboro, Assistant Commissioner at the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. The state reserves the right to suspend service at any location undergoing closure, renovation, or reconstruction with 30-day written notification, during which the state will incur no vendor charges and will be responsible for equipment storage. The state also reserves the right to add service if new welcome center locations are constructed. The vendor is responsible for removing all equipment at the end of the contract term.
