About this file
This document is an Environmental Management System (EMS) Awareness Training requirement for contractor employees working at Tinker Air Force Base.
Tinker AFB established its EMS in November 2005 to achieve continual improvement in mission performance by reducing environmental risks and cost. The facility's self-declaration of conformance was last updated on August 30, 2018. The three significant environmental aspects identified are hazardous waste generation, air emissions, and storm water. Key environmental objectives and targets include: maintaining compliance with no notices of violation; reducing hazardous waste by 20 percent by 2020 (with interim targets of 7 percent by 2015 and 15 percent by 2018, based on a 2008-2010 baseline); diverting 65 percent of solid waste by weight by 2020, excluding construction and demolition debris; and reducing Toxic Release Inventory releases by 35 percent by 2020 based on a 2006 baseline. All contractor employees physically working on Tinker AFB must complete the EMS General Awareness Training slides and review the annual EMS policy letter. Contractors must provide written certification that all employees will view the training slides. For additional information, contractors should contact Mr. Joe Kracke, EMS Coordinator, at 405-734-4586 or joseph.kracke.1@us.af.mil.
