About this file
Attachment B - Specifications is a bid document from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) detailing requirements for a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) for muskellunge larval culture. The project requires a bidder to design, procure equipment, and provide technical support for constructing a specialized aquaculture system, with key deliverables including a design schematic due by December 30, 2022, an equipment list by February 10, 2023, and final construction completion by March 15, 2023. The bidder must provide all necessary equipment, supplies, and labor, and will be responsible for designing the RAS, coordinating with the agency, seeking design approval, and delivering a comprehensive electronic PDF design schematic.
The specification document outlines extensive technical support requirements, including providing training and technical assistance by phone and email during the construction and testing phases from February through August 2023. The bidder will not be on-site during construction, with agency staff assembling the equipment based on the bidder's instructions. After construction, the bidder must deliver electronic PDF operational manuals and continue to provide technical support until the RAS is completely constructed. The project emphasizes a collaborative approach, with the bidder serving as the main point of contact and working closely with the agency to ensure successful system design and implementation.
