About this file

This exhibit document describes the base bid and additive alternates for The Dalles MS overhead door replacement project in Oregon. The base bid requires removal and replacement of four existing overhead doors and operators at doors 3, 4, 5, and 6 in accordance with attached plans and specifications. Four additive alternates are included to maximize project work within available funding constraints. Add Alternate 1 covers removal and replacement of up to three 12-foot-wide overhead doors (doors 13, 12, and 11, in priority order) with pricing per door. Add Alternate 2 addresses removal and replacement of up to two 14-foot-wide overhead doors (doors 7 and 8, in priority order) with pricing per door. Add Alternate 3 provides removal and replacement of up to three 12-foot-wide overhead doors (doors 14, 1, and 2, in priority order) with pricing per door. Add Alternate 4 covers preparation and painting of existing overhead doors, with up to seven doors available for painting in a specified priority order (doors 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 14, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13) to match newly replaced doors if budget permits.

The contract award will be based on the lowest responsive bid combining totals from the base bid and all four additive alternates. All additive alternates, if selected for inclusion in the project, must comply with the contract specifications, plans, and statement of work. The additive alternate structure is designed to accommodate ODOT's limited funding availability for the project, allowing the agency to select alternates for inclusion based on available budget. Bidders are required to provide pricing on all items listed in the contract documents.
