Review a contact group
Contact group examples
Open a contact group when you need to review a reusable contact segment, inspect its contacts, update metadata, add contacts, or manage saved-search sync. Contact groups are workspace-owned, so the records and contacts you see depend on the selected workspace and your account access.
Group metadata and workspace ownership
The Contact Group detail header shows the group name, contacts count, last update, creator, tags, and saved-search sync context when available. The page can also show a summary or description when the group has one. If a group has no description, the detail page focuses on the contacts list and visible workspace metadata.
Contacts list and inline contacts widget
The detail page shows contacts directly in the page through the contacts widget. Use the inline list to review group membership, compare contact fields, and add more contacts through the Add action. Contacts shown inside the group still follow the current workspace's contact visibility and available fields.
Linked saved search and sync history
A contact group can be linked to a saved Contacts search so GovTribe can add new matching contacts to the group over time. For the setup, sync, and unlink workflow, see Build contact groups from saved searches.
Common questions
For general search and table troubleshooting, see Troubleshoot search results.
What is a contact group?
A contact group is a saved list of contacts in your workspace. Use contact groups when you want to keep a reusable segment of people for repeat research, outreach planning, or team review.
How do contacts get added to a group?
You can add contacts to a group from selected contact rows on the Contacts page, or from the Add action on the Contact Group detail page. A contact group can also be linked to a saved Contacts search so new matching contacts can be added through the saved-search sync workflow.
How do I keep a contact group updated from a saved search?
Use Build contact groups from saved searches to create the saved Contacts search, link it to a group, run Sync Now, and understand daily sync behavior.
Who can update or delete a contact group?
Contact groups belong to your workspace. Available edit and delete actions depend on your workspace access and the group context shown in GovTribe.
