UNSPSC 60104306: Planetarium

Devices used to observe the celestial movements by making pin hole on the globe in shape of stars according to the stellar magnitude, and projecting the light through the hole, thus showing the constellation onto the dome-style screen.

UNSPSC 60104306 Planetarium is a Commodity code under which state and local governments procure portable and fixed planetarium systems, digital full-dome projection equipment, and supporting infrastructure for educational presentation and astronomy programming. The code also encompasses related educational displays, classroom supplies, and STEM materials that state and local entities categorize under this taxonomy, though the recent opportunities show substantial scope divergence — the actual purchasing activity ranges from planetarium dome systems to Montessori classroom supplies, contraceptive education displays, fire prevention kits, and sensory room products. State and local issuing bodies pursuing these items include college systems (community colleges), school districts, county government procurement offices, state health departments, and fire marshal offices. The mix reflects both direct equipment procurement and coordinated catalog-discount frameworks that span multiple educational and public health jurisdictions.

Recent activity spans Florida, Illinois, Oregon, New Jersey, New York, and Arizona. The most directly relevant opportunity is Ocean County College's IFB (BID2627B1788) for a portable planetarium system based on the Digitalis Digitarium Mu 2 with 5-meter dome, delivery, setup, training, and warranty, with proposals due September 2, 2026. Other recent solicitations under this code show schools and counties purchasing Montessori supplies, STEM kits, and therapeutic products through discount-pricing frameworks — Hillsborough County Public Schools (Florida) issued an ITQ (26126ITQEST) for 310 line items of Montessori classroom supplies with responses due April 10, 2026, and Cartwright Elementary School District No. 83 on behalf of the SAVE consortium (Arizona) issued an RFP (RFP260331) for STEM and College & Career Readiness Kits for multiple Arizona school districts and higher education institutions, with proposals due June 8, 2026 and anticipated multiple awards across vendors. The Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Health Improvement (27482DPHFINANB54336) procured educational contraceptive displays and materials with responses due October 8, 2026. The code shows active state and local procurement but with limited direct planetarium system activity; most volume flows through educational supplies and materials frameworks.
