UNSPSC 55121512: Valve tag

A type of tag used to display technical information about the valve to which it is affixed.

UNSPSC 55121512 Valve tag is a Commodity code that does not match the work actually being solicited under it in recent state and local procurement. The two most recent opportunities tagged to this code involve airport baggage tags and thermal boarding pass stock (Sacramento County Department of Airports) and Knox Box secure key systems for fire rescue (Marion County Fire Rescue, Florida) — neither of which relates to industrial valves or valve identification tags. The code shows little relevant recent activity aligned with its nominal scope.

The mismatch between code assignment and actual procurement need suggests either tagging error or a jurisdiction's use of this code as a catch-all for miscellaneous industrial or safety equipment that does not fit standard classifications. Without additional opportunities demonstrating consistent demand for valve tags under this code, the category does not present a clear pursuit signal for vendors in the valve or valve-identification space.
