UNSPSC 46171602: Safety horns

UNSPSC 46171602 Safety horns is a Commodity code that encompasses personal emergency alarm devices and related accessories, including body alarm pendants and pendant cases. State and local governments procure these items primarily for use by law enforcement, correctional, and public safety personnel as emergency signaling and personal protection equipment. The issuing bodies soliciting under this code include state correctional departments and regional purchasing consortiums serving multiple jurisdictions. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice represents the primary recent buyer, indicating demand from state-level custodial and security operations.

Recent procurement activity centers on Texas, where the TDCJ issued IW249953 on May 27, 2026, seeking CISCOR body alarm pendants and nylon pendant cases as new, unused items compliant with OSHA standards and electrical listings (UL, FMRC, or NEMA). The solicitation required HUB set-aside participation under Texas procurement regulations, firm bid pricing for 30 days, and standard 14-calendar-day delivery unless otherwise specified. Bidders were required to register with TDCJ to receive solicitation amendments and modifications. The scope signals steady demand for correctional emergency signaling equipment, though the single recent opportunity and lack of visible activity across other states suggest limited current market volume under this specific code.
