UNSPSC 40141744: Drain bowls

UNSPSC 40141744 Drain bowls is a Commodity code that shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The six opportunities tagged with this code involve oxygen cascade system replacement (Collier County Emergency Medical Services), refrigerant extraction and reclamation (City of Tucson), natural gas main installation (City of Leesburg), medical gas system inspection and maintenance (County of Santa Clara), occupational medical surveillance (Washington State Department of Transportation), and welding materials procurement (Collin College and Collin County Community College District). None of these solicitations concern drain bowls as a product or service line; the code appears to have been misapplied to unrelated work spanning medical gas systems, natural gas utility work, occupational health services, and welding supply contracting.

Without authentic drain bowl procurement in the recent opportunity record, this code does not present a decision-relevant market signal for business development targeting state and local purchasing. The misalignment between the code's nominal scope and the actual work being bought suggests either a taxonomic data-quality issue in the state and local procurement system or a systematic tagging error. Monitor the code for corrections or authentic drain bowl solicitations, but pursue other UNSPSC categories with demonstrated recent activity in the customer's target jurisdictions.
