NIGP 56552: Pillow Manufacturing Machinery and Supplies

NIGP 56552 Pillow Manufacturing Machinery and Supplies is an Item code under which state and local governments procure machinery, equipment, and consumable supplies used in the manufacturing and production of pillows. The scope includes industrial looms, filling equipment, sewing machines adapted for pillow assembly, fabric cutters, stuffing materials, thread, labels, and related production inputs. State and local issuing bodies soliciting under this code span manufacturing support departments, vocational training programs, correctional facilities with in-house production operations, and municipal workshops. The code sees activity primarily from state procurement offices managing industrial facilities, county governments operating production shops, and school districts running career and technical education programs that include textile or soft-goods manufacturing instruction.

No recent state or local contract opportunities are currently posted under NIGP 56552 in available solicitation records. This code experiences episodic rather than continuous procurement activity, reflecting the specialized and infrequent nature of pillow manufacturing equipment acquisitions in the public sector. Buyers in this space typically consolidate purchases into larger capital projects rather than recurring solicitations, and activity concentrates around facility upgrades, equipment replacement cycles, or the establishment of new production or training programs.
