NIGP 56066: Trucks, Hand, Shelf

NIGP 56066 Trucks, Hand, Shelf is an Item code under which state and local governments procure hand trucks and shelf trucks — wheeled material-handling equipment used for moving boxes, pallets, and goods within warehouses, distribution centers, retail facilities, stockrooms, and custodial operations. The code captures both manual push-handle designs and motorized variants, typically ranging from lightweight two-wheel dollies to four-wheel platform trucks with weight capacities from a few hundred to several thousand pounds. State and local buyers use hand and shelf trucks across a broad range of departments and functions: warehouse and inventory management, facilities maintenance, grounds keeping, public health and safety stockpiling, emergency management, school and university operations, and municipal service departments.

No recent state and local contract opportunities under NIGP 56066 Trucks, Hand, Shelf appear in the current procurement activity block. This code typically sees procurement activity through routine purchasing via cooperative contracts, blanket orders with office and material-handling suppliers, and small-dollar IFBs or RFQs rather than large competitive solicitations. Buyers in this commodity family often consolidate hand-truck procurement with broader facilities, maintenance, or janitorial supply agreements rather than issuing standalone awards.
