NIGP 08055: Nameplates, Plastic

NIGP 08055 Nameplates, Plastic is an Item code covering rigid plastic identification and labeling products that state and local governments procure for facility operations, administrative use, and asset identification across departments and agencies. Recent solicitation activity shows that buying under this code centers on custom nameplates, engraved identification products, and related signage supplied on an as-needed basis to multiple government locations. The issuing bodies soliciting under the code include county sheriffs' departments and county purchasing offices, reflecting operational demand across law enforcement and general administration functions.

The County of Orange, California Sheriff-Coroner Department issued a competitive IFB (solicitation 0602996601NB, due March 9, 2026) for 85 line items of rubber stamps, pads, daters, engraving, and related items including nameplates and custom architectural signs to be delivered on demand to 28 facilities throughout Orange County. The three-year contract offers a five percent price preference for certified Orange County Local Small Business (OCLSB) or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) vendors, and an eight percent deduction for businesses certified as both, with pricing evaluated competitively and no minimum-order requirements. This represents the primary recent activity visible under the code; geographic spread is currently limited to California in the available recent-opportunities record, and no other state or local opportunities are documented in the source.
